New laboratory suites comprising a total of 40,000 SF contain clean rooms ranging from Class 1,000 to Class 100,000. The suites include gown rooms, airlocks, test access areas, and miscellaneous office spaces in addition to the clean rooms.  Three of the Class 1,000, and one of the Class 10,000 clean rooms contain large vibration isolation masses located in pits to support sensitive optical test equipment. The project included underhung overhead bridge cranes and the associated structural upgrades required to support them. The project also involved the distribution of laboratory gases, compressed air, vacuum, and a clean room particle counting system. In addition, the labs required Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) perimeters and an emergency power system supporting select pieces of equipment.
