Austin, in collaboration with The Aerospace Corporation’s laboratory operations personnel, planned, designed and engineered a new laboratory wing, as well as an existing building remodel to house a diverse set of laboratory functions including experimental, analysis and testing laboratories.
The new laboratories include: lasers, vacuum and test chambers, fume hoods, an anechoic chamber, vacuum pumps and blowers, analytical equipment, propellant testing, laboratory casework and other miscellaneous laboratory equipment.
Of significant importance were the design considerations for hazardous materials including toxic and highly toxic substances, flammable gases and liquids, inert and oxidizing gases, explosive substances, and other hazardous materials. The facility offers a 100 percent exhaust HVAC system, as well as a large electrical service and process gas piping system. |
