A 75-acre site formerly occupied by the U.S. Navy in Long Beach, California, was redeveloped to serve as the Home Port for Sea Launch Company, the world’s first private venture for launching large commercial satellites.

Boeing Commercial Space Company of Seattle, Washington, a division of The Austin Company’s longtime client, The Boeing Company, is the largest shareholder of Sea Launch and was responsible for overall program management. The Austin Company served as general contractor for Sea Launch’s Home Port construction project.
