Kansai International Airport

Because it operates without an overnight curfew, Kansai International handles a significantly higher volume of airfreight in a 1,400,000 SF international cargo complex.  Austin, in association with a local architect and engineering firm, master planned the $230 million complex, which comprises import, export and freight forwarder warehouses; perishables warehouse; mail facility; and customs and administration buildings. Included is a 3,228,000 SF lighted aircraft apron. Pedestrian access around the cargo complex is provided via second level skywalks, keeping the ground level free for vehicle movements.
