The Austin Company converted a former orange drink factory into a vegetable production, packaging and distribution facility for Tanimura & Antle, Inc., the leading privately owned grower and supplier of produce in the United States.

The facility is used to process the company’s SaladTime® brand of premium-quality pre-cut, pre-washed bagged salads. The facility will allow the company to expand its distribution to the Central and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States. The project involved installing state-of-the-art technology reflected in a sophisticated process for separating out vegetable culls, washing the produce, spin-drying vegetables through a centrifuge and re-circulating water.
