BASF is part of the world's largest chemical company. Prior to calling on The Austin Company, BASF was storing their raw materials off-site, which was becoming very costly and inefficient. In addition to keeping the facility fully operational during construction, The Austin Company was also faced with an unique design obstacle. Due to limited available property on which to build this expansion, the receiving dock and road supporting it, had to be designed in such a way that it would fit around the current facility and construction, without the advantage of a normal logical route. Austin was able to design a truck route that allowed delivery trucks access to the dock with minimal extra maneuvering, while still enabling efficient use of the existing property.
