Dee Howard Aircraft Maintenance

When Dee Howard needed a new hangar for completion, overhaul and repair services to serve airlines and cargo carriers, it called on The Austin Company to design and build a new maintenance hanger.

The hangar has a clear span of 385 feet and accommodates a variety of aircraft at one time, including two 767 aircraft or a 747 and a 737. Underfloor pits distribute power, compressed air and 400 Hz electrical service at each aircraft position.

The project also included a two-story 21,000 SF structure that houses workshops, offices, breakrooms and support facilities. Significant infrastructure modifications were required to provide site utilities for the hangar. The project includes 200,000 SF of paved aircraft ramp and a new taxilane to the airport runway.
