The Austin Company provided planning, design and engineering for a 40,000 SF mission critical data center in support of Northrop Grumman’s Advanced Systems Development Center, located within Building 202 in El Segundo, California.

The new center, described as an incubator of ideas for integrated strike warfare, houses a Systems Integration Laboratory (SIL), Cyber Warfare Integration Network (CWIN) war simulation theater, Distinguished Visitor Center (DVC) and multiple Engineering, Logistics and Technology (EL&T) Laboratories -- all designed by Austin as individual projects.

The high availability data center is comprised of 12" raised access flooring with static dissipative tile. HVAC units are connected to a chilled water system with redundancy (ductwork, louvers, controls) in critical areas to include smoke purging.
