When Philadelphia Newspapers Inc. began to outgrow its existing facility and needed a more efficient solution to produce The Philadelphia Inquirer and the Philadelphia Daily News, it commissioned The Austin Company to analyze requirements and options for expanding.

The decision to build a new production plant in suburban Philadelphia came after thoroughly analyzing factors such as environmental regulations, soil conditions, the effect of added traffic on area roads, internal and external noise levels to accommodate residents and workers, air quality, worker comfort and more.
