The Kansas City Star

The Kansas City Star awarded The Austin Company a contract to provide services for a new downtown production complex. The multi-million dollar complex houses new Koenig & Bauer AG (KBA) presses, which improve the appearance of the newspaper and give The Star more flexibility in how it packages and distributes its product.

In addition to being a major investment in revitalizing downtown, the new facility is significant in its architectural design. “Austin was selected for their track record of creating successful newspaper facilities, plus a creative architectural design that reflects a commitment to downtown.”

The multi-level building rises from four stories on the south end to approximately eight stories on the north end where four 60-feet-high KBA Commander presses will be installed.
